For the first time, time doesn’t feel like it matters. The days, hours, and seconds go by, and it’s all the same, at least for a while. I’m here. Not stuck here, just here and feeling a sense of relief. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I can finally take a step back, relax, and take a break from life. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I needed this, but I can undoubtedly spin it my way. It’s Wednesday, and it might as well be a Saturday because this will be the longest weekend of my life. The best part is I have all this time, which is also the scariest part. While time doesn’t concern me right now, it still goes on and is still limited. What I do with this time is up to me as I sit in my four-walled room, blocked from the outside world. Then again, this might be something we all need. Not to lock ourselves in our rooms but take a little vacation from time to time. I’m not talking about going to the Bahamas (if you can, by all means, but bring me back something). I’m referring to taking a step back, both mentally and physically, from school, work, and other daily stressors. I realize now this is vital. The point of life is to celebrate it and enjoy it! Don’t let yourself become too bogged down by your responsibilities.

Take care of them, but don’t forget to take care of yourself. Start that book you’ve been meaning to read, write that song that’s begging to be written, work out, close your eyes while listening to some relaxing music, watch a movie, and for goodness sake, lighten up fuzzball (one of my Grandpa’s favorite phrases)! Our time is limited, but what we do with it is up to us. Always remember that. I’m quarantined right now and scribbling these words while battling an illness. It’s kicking my butt so far, but I know I’m gonna come out on top, and when I do, you can bet I won’t forget what I’m learning right now. Take a little vacation for yourself today. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you; if they don’t, just take them to Disneyland.

This is usually the part where I’m supposed to promote myself. I’m just glad this found you because I believe for whatever reason, it was destined to. If you’d like to check out my other work, follow, comment, share, or even tip, that’s entirely up to you. I promise we can still be friends either way :) Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoyed my words!
